I'm Great && I'm In America

11:11 AM

Apparenly this summer is all about firsts so let's talk about my first time at Great America.

Before school ended, one of our senior activities were to go to Six Flags which coincidentally my first time there [I failed to blog about that...oops] and a week ago we went camping and for the first time ever there were people my age [I'll blog about it soon, just waiting for pictures] and now I went to Great America for the first time. I don't know how it happened but I convinced my parents to go and alas there it was.

The park is open from 10 AM to 10 PM, but my family and I didn't get there until around 1. If you were in Disneyland that would've been a problem but that wasn't the case here. We got on rides in less than 30 minutes to no wait at all!

As soon as we got there my cousin and I went on by ourselves since the adults are with my siblings and wouldn't really ride what she and I would. We also basically became each other's paparazzi as we walk looking for rides along the way.

The very first ride we rode was the Celebration Swing which was a swing thingy in the air. I have no idea what it's called but if you guys saw my instagram post you'll know what I'm talking about. My cousin and I decided to just ride whatever it is we walk by instead of running around the whole park back and forth. The next one we rode was the 'Demon' which isn't that big and only has two small full hoops, however, it was the longest wait we had to wait for the whole day. It took about 30 minutes but that still isn't as bad as Disneyland.

The next one we rode was the Tiki Twirl and I think this is my favorite of them all. I was gonna film the ride but the operator said she'd stop the ride if anyone takes a video or photo during.

After the Tiki Twirl, we rode the H.M.B. Endeavor and it'd normally be my favorite ride but the safety things were just very uncomfortable that if I had bigger boobs I probably wouldn't have been able to breathe. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed the two 360 turn. It was that that made my cousin reluctant to ride this at first but in the end she agreed that it was alright. Also, we basically went deaf during this ride since the girl next to her started screaming as soon as the ship started moving.

After this we rode the FireFall which is basically like this but the whole ship rotates by it self as the ride is rotating kind of like the Green Lantern in Six Flags or the ferris wheel in California Adventure. I was told that there were fire but there wasn't any so I was kind of disappointed but I guess it was too hot yesterday to get fire involved.

Afterwards we rode the Orbit since it was just right across. You couldn't really see anything while riding it, so much so that I didn't even notice we went completely vertical so that was pointless.

Next to Orbit was the Rapids and let me tell you, I got completely soaked while the guy in front of me was almost completely dry. I guess somebody had to take the fall, right? I did bring extra clothes so that was alright but my converse felt a little snug after being soaked.

After we changed we met up with our family and saw the Aerial Ice Extreme show all together. It was pretty amazing! Then after the show my aunt took pictures of my cousin and I with the guy performers haha.

The adults and my brother then went to ride the Rapids but my cousin, my sister, and I stayed and ate at Panda Express (which was wayyy over priced even for a themed park lemme tell ya). Since we ate we couldn't really ride the roller coasters anymore for hours and by that time the park would be closed, so we just went on the carousel, the Star Tower, and the Celebration Swing again.

Overall I had a great time. Maybe even too much fun since on the way home my head started hurting and I mean 'I just got cheated on by that butthole' hangover kind of hurting. Also, my camera broke right after the fireworks so you know I had a great time for sure.
