ʚ Poppin' KPop ɞ

A while ago I talked about KPop, it was when I actually first started listening to it - aside from the OST of dramas I've seen; you can find that post right here. Now here I am years later about to talk about more groups I got myself into...

In the previous post I mentioned above I talked about Got7 and BTOB. They've both had their comebacks since then (August 2015), and although I still listen to them regularly I'd like to talk about the ones I started listening to after that post.


Day 6


They're not your typical KPop group, they're more of a band. They play their own instruments and participate in composing their songs. They were actually heavily involved with the writing of their debut album!! They also regularly go on radio shows and cover both Korean and English songs. From what I heard almost all the members are at least conversationally fluent in English.

They debuted with 6 members back on 7th September 2015, but due to the past member having a scandal with a fan he was released from the band and the company.

Twice


The first ever girl group I became a fan of and they're from the same company as Got7 and Day6! I ended up watching Sixteen once I got into them. At first I didn't like them because I never really listened to girl groups before aside from a song or two but since I subscribed to JYP on Youtube, I was notified when their debut was released. It was pretty annoying at first but honestly, it was just really catchy and this is when I went down the blackhole tbh and now I'm in the status where I learned the choreo of their new single, Signal, within an hour of its release.

They debuted on 20th October 2015. The group was basically formed from the reality show Sixteen hosted by JYP himself.

Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS)

After Twice I didn't really started listening to any other new group. I was okay with the handful of groups I already listen to, but all my friends who listen to KPop was pushing me to listen to BTS. It wasn't until I was in the car with one of them that I actually listened to them. Butterfly was playing and that's what hooked me and now I am trash.

They debuted on 13th June 2013 and now they're legends being the first KPop Group that was nominated and won a Billboard music award.

They debuted on 16th January 2015 and honestly I still don't know if it stands for Girl Friend or GodFriend or whatever, what i do know is that this group is by far the cleanest group I've ever seen dance. I got into them after watching their 2x speed dance in Weekly Idol. I love dancing and when I saw those videos I was blown away I just had to look them up and now I am in love with them.

Blackpink

They debuted on 8th August 2016 and they are what I am an ultimate trash for. They're my babies like I love the other groups I talked about or will talk about BUT THEY ARE THE BAES! I just love everything about this group, their talents and skills are golden, their visuals are no joke, their concept oh man. I love all of them so much! I remember my boyfriend asked me what group I'd be in if I was an idol and I said Blackpink and now he loves them like I do but I definitely love them more. This group was supposed to have 9 members but YG decided to debut them first, the other 5 girls are still with the company and might debut later.

I listed them in the order I started listening to them. And this time around I didn't list my favorite songs because we'd just end up with a really long list, I did list the members' name at least. If you didn't notice some members' name are italicized.. they may or may not be my bias and yes I know there's multiple ones in each group but let me live! But the important thing to know is that I am trash.
