ʚ La Luna Sangre First Impression ɞ

9:15 PM

The very well known love team, KathNiel, is back with their latest teleserye La Luna Sangre. It's supposedly a sequel to the very successful Lobo (2008) - a personal favorite of mine - and Imortal (2011).

I'm a fan of this loveteam but I was still skeptical when I heard about this show because Lobo has a special place in my teleserye fanatic heart. Another reason I was skeptical about this is because they've never done an action teleserye before.

On the other hand, what got me really excited for this show is not KathNiel... it's Richard Gutierrez. He was on my top love of my little heart growing up in the Philippines and now that he's back it's great. I hope Angel make a special appearance on this show because I really want to see them work together again... Anyways...

In Lobo, Lyka, a werewolf, fell in love with a soldier who's number one goal is to basically hunt down werewolves. They ended up falling in love with each other and ultimately fixing the war between humans and werewolves. In Imortal, Lia, daughter of Lyka and Noah, is considered the "itinakda" which is basically the holy grail of werewolves in a more simpler term. Mateo, the strongest vampire, and Lia fell in love with each other ultimately fixing the war between the vampires and werewolves. Humans, vampires, and werewolves, live in peace during the reign of Mateo and Lia... until now.

La Luna will revolve around Malia and Tristan. Maria is the daughter of Lia and Mateo. Malia was either born dead or died right after birth, but was revived soon after. However, her rise from the death came with a prize... Mateo and Lia's immortality. Since they are no longer immortal, they no longer have any right to reign those species. Mateo and Lia decided to leave and live a quiet life with their family at a province.

The pilot episode revolved around the full moon which will show whether Mateo and Lia forever lost their immortality. They're quite happy about losing their immortality because it means they can now live in peace among people. The vampires and werewolves on the other hand were wishing for them to get their immortality back and lead them again because of the vampires gone rouge.

It's very clear where Malia came from, however, Tristan could either be a werewolf or a vampire. I'm not quite sure but he's definitely not human since his father was very worried about the moon. The child actor playing Tristan is quite talented, especially with those crying scenes. I can't wait to see more of him.

At the very last minute it was revealed that Richard Gutierrez is the leader of the rogue vampires. He's honestly the reason I'm really excited for this show.

Overall, I'd say that this show is worth giving a chance to. The first two shows were great, especially Lobo. I'd watch this week's episodes before deciding whether to actually watch it or slide left on it.
