♡ Back To School 2014-2015 Series: Organization && Tips ♡
4:07 PMHey hey hey you crazy mofos! I am back with yet again another back to school post. You probably hate me for reminding you about school but let's face it, it's inevitable! I figured that the best time to get all organized is at the beginning of school, because let's face it.. By the end of the first semester, maybe even after the first week or the first day, we are basically over the school thing. Let's get to it!!!
Agenda!! They are very important! My school always provides an agenda every year which we get when we register for classes a week before actual school. This was mine from last year when I actually used it. They are not only helpful with keeping up with tests and homeworks but also keeping up with your shows, when you had your last period, or even when you last waxed. All I'm saying is that try your hardest in keeping up with this because it will help you a lot! Granted I only kept up with this during the first semester but my grades did show change. My low A's did chaned to mid B's by the second semester because I haven't been keeping up with everything. So remember, AGENDA AGENDA AGENDA! Any agenda will work.
Ever since I got here in the US mid 7th grade I've been using one binder for all my classes. I'd always have this idea to have one binder per class by but the second week of school I'd be lazy to go to my locker and bring home all those binders so why even bother. Besides, one inch binder is enough for me and it's less likely for me to leave a paper at home or school or lose it. I like to get the ones with out the clear insert thing just because I'm careless and I always tend to rip those off. Also, this way I can doodle all over it. Another thing I look for in a binder is that the actual binding thing is attached to the back and not the side.
Now, having one binder for all your classes means that paper organization is vital. My school has a block schedule which means odd and even days for me. No, it doesn't mean on odd or even days of the month but rather odd classes and even classes alternatively so periods 1,3,5 today and periods 2,4,6 tomorrow. 0 period on the other hand is from Tuesday to Friday, an hour before actual school starts. Anyway, when you open my binder you'd see these two folders labeled odd and even. One side of the folder is labeled 'homework' for things that I am yet to do. The other side is labeled 'ready for A+' mostly because I can't think of anything to write on it but basically this is where the papers I'm ready to turn in goes to.
Dividers are important and I am big on using dividers with a pocket because my teachers either forgets to punch the papers they pass out or they just never do so this way it won't be all mixed up and you can punch them as soon as you get home or whenever you get the chance to. I am also a fan of using clear protective sheets. They are very helpful especially for those papers that your teacher goes like "if you keep this for the whole semester you'd get extra credit". They're also helpful for those things you need every class period like periodic table etc.
Now, you're probably wondering how everything can fit in a one inch binder. Well, they don't! Every chapter or unit that has passed should be taken out of the binder you bring to school and put into a bigger or several binders at home. This way when finals come you won't have to look around your room or the trashcan or wherever, all the papers you need would be in one place and one place only.
