Once Upon A Prom...

12:50 PM

Out of all the things I thought would happen on my prom one thing came true, I wore a red dress.

I was planning on sleeping in because I was exhausted from my pre prom adventures with two of my closest friends the day before. I was out of the house from 8 AM to 9 PM and I didn't get to eat proper food until I got home. However, my subconscious had a different plan. I think I'm too excited and stressed to sleep in that I woke up at 5 AM and then when I went back to sleep  I woke up again at 7 AM so I just gave up and went to the living room.

Before I go into detail of the happenings on my actual prom day, here are a couple of pictures from my mini pre prom photoshoot...

The Sunday before prom I managed to drag my dad to some park we discovered months ago for a mini pre prom pictorial since I know I wouldn't have time to get a proper picture of just myself in my dress during the day of the actual prom. I was hoping the yellow tall flowers would still be all over the park, but the heat of California killed all of it. Fortunately, my dress was the perfect contrast to the dry, dead flowers around.

I saved up enough money in the beginning of the school year to spend on my prom dress that I got it custom made. The designer resides in my mom's hometown in Philippines. I think it's really cute that my dress is imported from there. I got my shoes from Cathy Jean and it actually reminds me a lot of a mermaid. Cathy Jean was the first store my mom and I went to that day but I was like I'm not quite sure hmmm... so of course I walked around the mall for more than 3 hours and ended back at Cathy Jean and that's when I spotted the shoes in the picture. The clutch was my biggest issue. At first I was just going to borrow from my mom's friend's friend but it turns out it was made with real Swarovski crystals and by made I mean every single visible surface area of it is a crystal!! There's no way I was going to use it. My mom ended up buying me one, the one in the picture, literally the night before. I actually thought we'd have to go get one in the morning.

By the time I got to Vani's house almost everybody was already there. From Vani's house, the party bus picked us up and drove us to the venue, Arbat Banquet Hall at Burbank. The bus had a pole so of course I had to use it. I just had to and I mean my dress is two piece so there goes the second piece if you know what I mean. When we got to the venue I stepped on my dress on the stairs of the bus. It was definitely an entrance I won't forget. The place was beautiful, but it isn't really appropriate for prom in my opinion. The dance floor is literally as if they were expecting for only 50 people to dance. Also, I am proud to say that I dragged Connor to the dance floor and my friends to get everybody to start dancing. I am really proud of that.

After prom, the party bus took us back to Vani's house. We then drove to the nearest In n Out and had our midnight snacks. Some of us decided to go to the park by my brother's elementary school afterwards. I am pretty sure it wasn't 100% legal to do that but what you gonna do? I got home around 1:40 and I totally pigged out.

We obviously took hundreds of pictures but here are my absolute favorites:
